Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Evntful ("Evntful", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using our application (the "App") and services (the "Services"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"), our Privacy Policy, and our Code of Conduct. Please read them carefully before creating an account. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must stop using the App and Services immediately.

1. Eligibility & Verification

1.1 Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to use Evntful. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

1.2 Verification: Evntful may request identity verification (selfie, profile photo, or government-issued ID). Failure to verify may result in account restriction or removal.

1.3 Accuracy of Information: All information provided during account creation and verification must be truthful and accurate. Impersonation, fake profiles, or providing false information is strictly prohibited and could also be reported to law enforcement if deemed necessary.

1.4 Verification Data Handling: Verification images (selfies, ID photos) are used only for identity verification, stored temporarily, and deleted immediately after verification is complete. Evntful does not retain verification images or ID copies beyond this process.

2. Location Sharing and Safety Features

2.1 Location Data Consent:

Evntful requires location access to provide core functionality, including:
• Displaying nearby matches
• Booking dates and events
• Venue recommendations
• Safety features
• Optional real-time location sharing with emergency contacts

2.2 Emergency Contact Sharing:

Users may add emergency contacts. If enabled, Evntful may share:
• Your first name
• Your match’s first name
• Event/date time
• Venue details
• Real-time location during the date or event

This information is shared only with your chosen emergency contact(s). Evntful is not responsible for how emergency contacts use this information.

2.3 Match Emergency Contacts

If your match has emergency contact sharing enabled, your booking details may be shared with their emergency contacts.

3. Prohibited Content & Behaviour

Users must not engage in:

• Hate speech, harassment, abuse, threats, or violence
• Fraud, impersonation, catfishing, or fake profiles
• Uploading explicit, obscene, or illegal content
• Encouraging illegal activity
• Misusing safety or location features

Evntful may suspend or ban accounts without warning.

4. Data Security & GDPR

4.1 Data Retention: We retain data only as long as necessary to provide services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

4.2 Security Measures: We use industry-standard encryption and secure cloud infrastructure (such as Google Cloud/Firebase). No digital service is completely secure.

4.3 GDPR Rights

Users have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete their data
• Object to processing
• Request data portability
• Withdraw consent
• Request full account deletion

5. Privacy

5.1 User Responsibility:  Users are fully responsible for their interactions both online and offline.

5.2 Assumption of Risk: Meeting others in person carries inherent risks. Evntful is not responsible for any harm, injury, loss, or damages resulting from meet-ups or events arranged through the App.

5.3 No Background Checks: Evntful does not perform criminal or background checks.

5.4 No Warranties: Evntful does not guarantee match success, compatibility, or event outcomes.

6. Bookings, Attendance, No-Shows & Refunds

6.1 Binding Bookings:  Evntful does not currently offer in-app purchases or monetisation features. All services are free in this version.

6.2 No-Show Policy

Evntful may suspend or permanently ban users who:
• Fail to attend dates they booked
• Fail to attend events they booked
• Frequently cancel last-minute

6.3 No Refunds

All tickets and bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable, including if:

• You change your mind
• You cannot attend
• Your match does not show up
• You leave early
• Issues occur outside Evntful’s control

6.4 Third-Party Events & Venues: Some events are provided by third parties (e.g., DesignMyNight partners). Evntful is not responsible for event quality, venue safety, staff behaviour, cancellations, or refunds. Disputes must be raised directly with the event provider.

7. User-Generated Content

Users retain ownership of their content but grant Evntful a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute content solely for operating and improving the App. Evntful may remove content that violates these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All branding, trademarks, UI, design, and software in the App belong to Evntful LTD. Users may not copy, reproduce, scrape, or interfere with the App.

9. Third-Party Services

Evntful uses essential third-party tools including:

• Stripe – payments and identity services
• Firebase & Google Cloud – authentication, hosting, analytics, crash reporting
• Google Maps– location and venue data
• DesignMyNight – event ticketing integrations

These providers may process limited personal data. A full list of data processors is available on request for GDPR compliance.

By using Evntful, you agree to the terms and privacy practices of these providers.

10. Account Management & Termination

10.1 User Account Deletion

You may delete your account anytime within the App:
Profile → Account → Delete My Account

This initiates full data deletion in accordance with our policies.

10.2 Evntful Termination Rights

Evntful may suspend or terminate accounts for:

• Violations of these Terms
• Safety concerns
• Misuse of emergency or location features
• Fraud or harmful behaviour
• No-show violations
• Illegal activity

11. Prohibited Uses (Including Bots & Automation)

Users must not:

• Use bots, scrapers, crawlers, automation tools, or scripts
• Create multiple or automated accounts
• Collect or access data without permission
• Attempt to hack, probe, or disrupt the App
• Use the App while driving
• Facilitate escorting or illegal services
• Attempt to access another user’s account

Violations may result in immediate account removal.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, Evntful is not liable for:

• Indirect or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profits, opportunities, or reputation
• Offline interactions or events
• Misuse of safety or location features
• Third-party venue or event issues

Evntful’s total aggregate liability to any user shall not exceed: £1 (one pound) regardless of the cause or number of claims.
